- Anyone living within the parish has the right to be buried in the parish churchyard (providing there is space) or in an adjoining burial ground.
- There is no right to be buried in any particular of the churchyard or burial ground.
- Some churches may allow others to be buried in their churchyard (e.g., ex-parishioners or those with family graves).
- Burials inside a church are not allowed in urban areas and are very rarely allowed elsewhere.
