Hello, and thank you for visiting the Sudden Trauma Information Service Helpline (STISH) website.

The purpose of this website is to provide accurate information and advice on many issues which surface in the wake of a sudden traumatic experience (i.e., an unexpected and one off event such as a road traffic accident, industrial accident, or assault).

This website has not been designed to provide information on issues relating to longstanding traumatic experiences such as childhood sexual abuse.  However, if you have been affected by such experiences, you may find some of the organisations listed in the Quick Links section helpful.
 

The content of this website has been prepared for adult users (i.e., 18 years and over) by a small group of professionals comprising the STISH Management Committee.

Currently many of the resources and organisations listed in the Quick Links section of this website are based in Scotland, however new and UK-wide information is continually being added, so please check back for further details.  Please let us know if there is any information you are looking for that you cannot find on the website.
