What can individuals do to help themselves? Commonly, those exposed to traumatic events feel out of control and helpless for a spell. It is, therefore, important for them to take control again of their lives and to feel that they can do things to help themselves.
They should try to: keep up normal daily routines. talk, when they feel able, to those whom they trust. find time for relaxation. eat regular meals.
