Specialist adult mental health service that treats those suffering from chronic post traumatic stress disorder as a result of exposure to a life threatening traumatic event. It is not a crisis service. The service also offers NHS trust staff assistance following a traumatic event at work.

This outpatient service is based at the University Hospital of Wales and provides clinics at the University Hospital of Wales and in Penarth.  It provides an assessment and treatment service for individuals who are thought to be suffering from post traumatic stress disorder.  It offers evidence based treatments including trauma focused cognitive behaviour therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, and medication.  Referrals are accepted from local General Practitioners and Secondary Care professionals.
