Traumatic events are commonly experienced at the time as though they were occurring in slow motion.
Also, survivors may have vivid and detailed recollections of some features of the trauma but a complete absence of or only partial memory of other features.
Finally, survivors often display false memories with regard to the order or timing of events relating to the trauma.
Commonly, after the trauma, for several months, even if the survivor experienced no head injury, they may report poor memory and concentration. |
