• It is important for a victim of trauma to be aware of the possibility of being seen by medical experts for both sides of a claim for the purposes of a medical report. Therefore, they will be medically examined twice or more for the same accident. 

• Some injuries are not physical; they may be psychological due to having been witness to or have been involved in some shocking or horrific incident (e.g., some individuals develop Post traumatic Stress Disorder or some other post traumatic psychological condition). 

• The principles of assessment for psychological injury are the same as for a physical injury except that you are likely to be examined by mental health specialists (i.e., psychiatrists or clinical psychologists) who are expert on the topic of traumatic "psychological injury".
